Bavubuka Foundation reachout to Stand Tall Education Network

During the months of  October & November 2011, a team of young leaders from Bavubuka Foundation will be reaching out to Stand Tall Primary School Project to share skills with Stand Tall Education Network students.
Children at Stand Tall Education Centre.
Stand Tall Education Network is a non-profit organization composed of a group of educators and social entrepreneurs from Uganda and Canada that have come together through common goals and shared beliefs regarding education. We believe that the most effective education is one that trains young minds to think ‘out of the box’, make choices, and ask questions – necessary qualities for successful leadership and innovation. Our approach follows a style of teaching that is referred to as ‘child centered learning’ which has been widely embraced in the West. It involves interaction between student and teacher rather than the traditional lecture and listen approach.

This Opportunity was brought forward by Nicole  Schouela who is the acting as the coordinator between the Vancouver and Ugandan Teams as well as the president of the Canadian Board of Directors for the network.

Bavubuka youth team that will be lead by Bwette Daniel Gilbert and other youth community leaders such as Szanie Elvis, Kasozi Charles, Nsubuga Nellysade, James Aaron, and Saul real Crew will be sharing Various skill to the youth in this school according to the time schedule that will be provided by the school.

The first in a series of innovative mixtapes, Internationally Known: Volume 1 is proof that
Hip-Hop is global. Artists from more than thirty nations were brought together to form a comprehensive album that represents the vast landscape of Hip-Hop culture. Artists on the mixtape rap in English as well as their native languages, sparking a climate of cultural exchange.

Conceived by Dumi RIGHT of pH MUSIC and Magee McIlvaine of Nomadic Wax and Magee Films, and mixed by Italy's DJ Nio, Internationally Known gathers material from some of the best Hip-Hop artists across the globe, in order to showcase the underground talent that has formed the foundation for global Hip-Hop. Some of the artists include Zero Plastica (Italy/Nigeria/Jamaica), Alfaress (Morocco), Wagëblë (Senegal), and OBC (Burkina Faso).

The project was a collaboration between Nomadic Wax, Zero Plastica, Basement Underground Studios, pH MUSIC, and Magee Films, organizations that are at the forefront of the global Hip-Hop movement. The mixtape will be distributed for free online and in limited amounts at shows and festivals. It will make its debut at the Trinity International Hip-Hop Festival in Hartford, CT on 9 April 2010.

Artists from Internationally Known are free to distribute the mixtape as they see fit in order to help spread the word about positive Hip-Hop culture, educating people and places that never would have experienced progressive, global Hip-Hop otherwise.

Richmond Volunteer Join Hearts with Bavubuka Foundation

Richmond Volunteers partnered with the Bavubuka Foundation Joined Hearts to raise as much money as possible to save the life of a youth in Uganda, Africa.

Cyno is a Ugandan youth artist who has developed a rare heart disease known as Valvular Regurgitation, which is requiring immediate medical attention to save his heart and to save Him. He has been Empowered through the Bavubuka Foundation and we want to do everything possible to help him to stay alive and to make his dreams come true!

Our goal is to connect the Richmond Community, to come together and share our love and our hearts with Cyno and the Bavubuka Foundation; to give back to them as they so givingly give their hearts and love to others.
Our aim is to raise $8,000 in total, so Cyno could have his surgery and live the life that every child deserves.
We need help of the community to get to our goal. We are having a Fundraiser Carwash on June 25 from 10-4 at the Esso Station at 7991 No 1 Road. Please come and donate to this great cause, and in turn have some great people from our community wash your vehicle!
Please feel free to donate and/or volunteer your time and hearts. Email us at

cynosheart@gmail.com.
