Greetings from KLA to BK: Artists from Kampala & Brooklyn Art Exhibit

KLA - Broolyn Art Exhibition
Brooklyn, New York- On June 18, 2011 at Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Art (MoCADA),
“Greetings from KLA to BK: A Dialogue Between Artists from Kampala & Brooklyn Art Exhibit &
Fundraiser” will open with a Special Artists Meet & Greet reception from 2-5pm which will include sales
of Mushana Ugandan traditional crafts, live entertainment, and film screenings from the Bavubuka
Foundation of Uganda. This multimedia art exhibit will feature the work of 15 artists from Uganda and
New York communicating through their art cross-cultural expressions of youth movements, cultural
identification within traditional art forms, and new media translation of empowerment. The exhibit will
bridge the experiences of the artists in Uganda with that of the artists in New York. On July 1-9, 2011
there will be a special auction of the art displayed in the exhibit with proceeds benefiting the Bavubuka
Foundation.
